Privacy Policy
Sada — audio exploration. Last updated 5 August 2026.
Sada is made by Hakawati LLC, Muscat, Oman. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal padding.
We do not sell your data. We do not show advertising. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
What we collect
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Name and email address | To create your account and sign you in. |
| Location, including in the background | To show what is near you, to pin an echo to the place you left it, and — during a guided walk — to start audio automatically as you reach a stop. Background location is used only while a walk is active. |
| Audio you record | These are echoes. They are the content of the app and are published to the place you left them. |
| Photos you add | Only photos you choose to attach to an echo. |
| Usage and diagnostics | Crash reports and basic usage, so we can find faults and fix them. |
| Purchase status | If you buy anything, we record that you bought it. Payment card details go to Apple or Google and never reach us. |
Your location, specifically
Sada asks for location permission because the app is built around where you are standing. You choose what to grant:
- While using the app — enough to explore the map and leave echoes.
- Always — needed only if you want audio on a guided walk to play by itself while your phone is in your pocket. You can decline this and still use Sada.
We store the location attached to an echo, because that is the point of an echo. We do not build a history of your movements, and we do not sell location data to anyone.
What other people can see
An echo you publish is public: other people can hear it, see where it was left, and see the name on your profile. Do not record anything you would not want a stranger standing in that spot to hear.
Who else handles your data
| Who | What for |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Hosts our database, accounts and audio storage. |
| Sentry | Crash reports, so we can fix what breaks. |
| Google Maps | Displays the map. |
| Apple and Google | App distribution and any in-app purchases. |
These are service providers acting on our behalf. None of them are given your data to use for their own advertising.
Reporting and blocking
Sada carries recordings made by other people. If something is offensive, in the wrong place, or should not be there, use Report on the echo. Reports are reviewed and content that breaks our rules is removed. You can also block someone so their echoes no longer reach you.
Your rights
- See your data — ask us and we will tell you what we hold.
- Delete an echo — you can delete anything you have published, at any time, in the app.
- Delete your account — available in the app, under your profile. This removes your account and personal details. Echoes you published stay at their places but are detached from your name and profile — and if you want them fully removed too, tell us when you delete (or email us) and we will take them down. Some records may persist briefly in backups before being overwritten.
- Correct your details — edit them in your profile, or ask us.
To make any request, email jassim@dauboman.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
How long we keep things
Your account and echoes are kept until you delete them or close your account. Crash and diagnostic data is kept for up to 12 months.
Children
Sada is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Where your data lives
Sada is operated from Oman. Our service providers may store and process data on servers outside Oman. We choose providers that apply recognised security standards.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
